THIS PARTICULAR DOG IS NOT AVAILABLE, BUT THERE ARE MANY LIKE HER THAT NEED A FOSTER HOME TO SAVE HER LIFE.  
 
Barktown Rescue is a foster based rescue. We pull dogs from the local shelter and place them into temporary homes until we can find them forever homes. The more foster homes we have, the more dogs we can save. There are more than 6 MILLION dogs and cats euthanized every year. We cannot make a difference alone. We need you to open your home to a dog that would otherwise be euthanized. Please contact us for more information on becoming involved.

 The shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the dog's predominant breed or breed mix. We strongly encourage you to select your new pet by looking at each dog's individual personality and pet qualities rather than relying on a breed label that is only our best guess. 
 
Our adoption fees vary from $150 and up.  All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, heart worm preventives, and flea/tick medication, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Portions of your adoption fee also help care for the sick and injured animals that we take in.  Thank you for supporting us and considering a rescue dog!
