This pretty Black Mouth Cur mix pup comes into the rescue via our favorite trainer, Alexa. Coco has been a client of Alexa's for years. She went through initial training with Alexa after her dads adopted her and regularly boarded with Alexa when they traveled. International travel was a component of their work, and a consistent part of their lives, so Alexa spent quite a bit of time with Miss Coco. Coco has been living in the city for the past two years and was a loved dog. They took excellent care of her, spoiled her, and kept up with her vet care. Unfortunately, one of her dads is being transferred abroad, and Coco can not go with them. They asked Alexa to find her a good home, so she is staying with Alexa for now, getting a refresher on her training skills and basic commands, and preparing to meet her new family. It's always sad when a dog loses the family they love, but we hope to find a true forever home for Coco - a family who loves her and will be committed for the long term.



Coco has been living in a loving home most of her life and has great house manners. She's crate trained, housetrained, and knows how to behave in the home. She has a nice balance of mellow energy indoors but is always ready to go and up for a new adventure. She's a social pup who greets new people with confidence and lots of enthusiastic wiggle-butt. She's affectionate and likes to cuddle, and will make a great sidekick to accompany you to the store, on a hike, or to hang out with friends. Coco is still a young active dog who needs her daily walks and daily exercise. Her leash skills vary by handler. With Alexa, she is great on leash and does well around other dogs. She understands that Alexa is in charge and follows her lead. With a more passive handler, she can be reactive on leash at times to other dogs. Coco knows how she's supposed to act but needs a handler who knows how to lead her.



Coco has been living as an only dog and would be fine alone or paired with a calm, social dog of similar size who is playful. When paired with the right energy dog, she plays well and enjoys the company of other dogs. She regularly mixes it up with Alexa's dogs and has had other doggy friends in her life. Coco is NOT a dog park dog, and she is not a good fit for a home with small dogs or cats.
