Meet Dixie!

15-year-old Dixie came to us through our Final Wish program after her elderly owner passed away, and her neighbors kindly stepped up to ensure she was cared for and safe.

Dixie has been receiving extra love and care in a Foster home to allow her a quiet environment to decompress after the upheaval in her life. Happily, Dixie has come out of her shell! She gives a little bark to let her foster mom know she wants "up" to be next to her on the sofa. Her appetite has greatly improved, and she loves plain yogurt as a special treat! Dixie loves to snuggle, both next to her foster mom and the other dogs in the home. Her foster mom shared, "Dixie is a sweetheart! She sleeps through the night and gets along with her foster brothers. She knows to come to me if she want a bit of affection, but will head back to her crate when she wants some alone time. Dixie is really sweet and enjoys ear and chin rubs immensely. She is fine being picked up, held, cuddled, carried, and loved. Dixie enjoys napping and relaxing on any soft blanket or beds. A couple of times a day she will be more active and roam the house or the yard a bit."

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
