Hi my name is Faith!  I'm a great combination of sweet, stubborn, determined,  loving and playful.  When I came into rescue I was paralyzed in my hind end.  I couldn't walk or stand.  My mama named me Faith because she had faith that I would walk again.  With meds and lots of crate rest and being snuggled up in her comforter on the couch I began my recovery.  I'm happy to say with her love I can not only walk but run and play and yes I'll even try to chase away birds in my yard! I'm not on meds anymore either. ! I do need to be careful that I don't reinjure myself so I shouldn't jump off furniture or have too many stairs in my new home.  If you have a lot of stairs I should be carried.  I don't agree with that but mom says it's for my own good.  My foster doggie brother is just a bit bigger than me but knows how to gently play with me.  No rough housing please!
When I first meet new dogs I have to be reminded I'm not the boss of the couch.  Once I trust my new doggie friends all is good though.  Watch out though because if you have food on the coffee table I'm going to hatch a plan to sneak some or will give you my sad puppy eyes.  Sometimes people fall for it so why not?  If that doesn't work kisses are a good backup plan and I'll also rub against your neck like a cat.  I'm potty trained but do like to go out about every 4 hours.  If the grass is wet my inner princess comes out and I'll give you my look of disdain for having to walk into it but I will.  I just want you to know it's dumb.  I enjoy car rides and would be so happy to always be with you.  I'm small and usually quiet as a mouse so why wouldn't you want to take me with you?  I'm good with all people but a little shy at first.  It would be best for my home not to have little kids.  I'm fine with them but they could accidently hurt me and that would make us all sad. I enjoy wearing clothes and I'm a chill baby when it's cool so dresses and sweaters are fine with me.  Besides I like the attention!  If you are looking for a beautiful princess to add to your family I'll be here waiting for you!

Many of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:

http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/

Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.

All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website

www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications

and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
