Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Kloe. I am a very gorgeous and smart senior female American Eskimo who is vision impaired but don’t cry for me Minnesota because I don’t let that stop me from loving life and always having a beautiful smile on my precious face. To ensure I don’t get hurt, I am in search of an amazing furever home with minimal to no stairs and I really hope that will be with YOU. Now, let’s talk about me…after all, it truly is all about me am I right!?! Tee, hee!!! Although I am a shy girl, I am not typically afraid of many noises but because I am able to see a bit of light and darkness, I may crouch down if someone is walking towards me. I love to explore which helps me quickly map my surroundings. As a matter of fact, foster dad is quite impressed that I already know where everything is in the yard…how impressive am I!?! Additionally, I am usually smiling as I run around the yard, and I think that makes everyone happy which is always a good thing! That said, at my age my favorite pastime is simply lounging in my favorite kitchen or dining room corner with my thoughts and my best buddy Betsy the cow…she’s a doormat and I don’t mean that figuratively that is quite literally what she is…Hee, hee!! I don’t mind being gently picked up and though bathing is never on the top of my priority list I WILL allow mom to beautify me…I mean who doesn’t want to look their best right!! I have not met any cats or little people, but I am good with other dogs, and I really hope my new home has a doggie companion for me who will help me feel safe and more comfortable. I have not had much experience with the leash and my body freezes if foster mom tries to use it with me so my new home will need to have a fenced yard where I can safely run and enjoy all the wonderful aromas of nature. Additionally, I am not fond of that cave thing you humans call a kennel/crate, so mom puts me in something called an “X pen” at night or whenever she must leave the house. I’m typically a quiet lady but I will let you know in the morning if I want to go outside, and I may even chat it up a bit outside if I see other dogs. Mom and I are working on potty training and I’m quite confident that a solid schedule will help me master it. Anyway, my whole life I have dreamed of an amazing home where I am showered with more unconditional love than I know what to do with because I am overflowing with love, and I really want to share it with someone wonderful like YOU! Are you ready to welcome an absolute angel into your life and will you promise to give me the best life EVER, keep me safe and NOT give up on me? If that sounds good to you, it sounds unbelievable to me! I look forward to meeting and going home with you soon! Please hurry! Love, Kloe Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***    ADOPTION EVENTS:   Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.   ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.   FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.   NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.   YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
