Meet Miami!
She’s sooo happy to be off of crate rest following her spay and tail amputation- life free of a “cone of shame” is GREAT!
Miami came to us with her siblings and momma after a Good Samaritan found her on the side of the road when she was 8 weeks old. She was rescued along with her family, but she had not been socialized with many people. She still prefers other dogs to people, until she really gets to know you. She is coming out of her shell bit by bit and loves to cuddle on the couch, take walks around the neighborhood, and of course, play in the yard. Miami was found with an old injury to her tail which had separated the bones. She was unable to move it about halfway down, it hung at an odd angle, and it was half holding on by scar tissue. After the amputation, she can wag her whole nubbin!!
Since she is still working on socialization, we recommend that Miami go to a home who has a fenced in yard and another dog. We think that she would be good with cats. She is almost housetrained and she is smart and eager to pleases her foster family is working hard on teaching her commands and she loves to go on evening walks with the family.
Miami is 4-5 months old and is a Labrador and bully breed mix (whether this mix is boxer, pitbull, or another block headed dog, we do not know). She weighs about 35 pounds and we expect her to reach about 50-55 pounds when full grown- her mom is about that large.
