Description:
TWINKLE TOES is a pit bull, cocker spaniel & German Shepherd mix (Embark DNA test confirmed)  7 years young. Twink is healthy and athletic. She is a good jogging partner because she is mindful of a human’s pace and stays connected with her human in public places. She has done well with basic training classes. Even though she was neglected in her early years, she has developed a sense of security during her time at CompAnimals. Volunteers have shown her the great outdoors, and she has a close circle of friends. She rides nicely in the car on the way to and from her adventures.

Twink is trusting and affectionate with her close friends and, once you have built that relationship Twinkle will do anything for you. CompAnimals volunteers successfully helped her build relationships by taking it gradually however, truth be told, Twinkle has social anxiety and feels most comfortable with those people with whom she is rock solid. Twink is often playful, even downright funny, but she also settles down nicely for couch potato time. We had her in a home briefly last summer and although she adored her person, there were two bite incidents that occurred - one with a potential dog walker and the other with her owner’s mother (which required stitches). Due to these bites and our responsibility to keep Twinkle safe, her next family needs to be one-in-a-million. Twinkle needs a tried-and-true person who sees her potential but won’t make her meet visitors. Someone who isn’t afraid to tell people not to approach, no matter how much they want to say ”Hello” to the pretty doggy. Someone who takes looooong hikes solo across the countryside so Twink can run on a long leash with wild abandon and not have to worry about her social butterflies.

Twinkle enjoys positive guidance and opportunities to use her brain (she loves nose work!) as much as she loves treats. She is so easy in so many ways that we have to remind ourselves to keep her socially distanced and safe. CompAnimals will give Twink our full support for a successful transition, enlisting professional trainers to help if needed. Follow "Twinkle Toes the Adoptable Dog” on Facebook. Please fill out an application at www.companimals.org prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. Twinkle has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested negative and is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Adoption $200.
