Description:
Meet Abbie!Abbie is a 6 1/2 pound rabbit looking for her forever home! Abbie came to us when she started getting a little too big for her owners to handle. They provided her with lots of space in her previous home, and she seems to enjoy having the run of the home or a large gated off area. She was known to be a big chewer in her previous home, but has not been destructive here at the shelter. It will be important to provide Abbie with lots of chew toys and things to play with to occupy herself so she does not chew household items. She loves to be pet on her nose and is quite curious of people and everything around her - she will need some work on handling and being picked up. Rabbits generally do not like being picked up but it will be important to get her comfortable enough with handling in case you need to move her or for vet visits.Abbie lived with a cat in the past and did well; we do not know how she would be with dogs or other rabbits. This animal is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed, microchipped and been seen by our vet team.Abbie is located on Cape Cod at our Brewster Animal Care and Adoption Center. Please call the shelter at 617-426-9170 ext 305 or stop by during our open hours (Wednesday-Sunday 1-6PM) to learn more about Abbie. FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
