Description:
Kent is a sweet and handsome boy with a twinkle in his eye and a lot of love in his heart. This happy-go-lucky charmer seems to love everything: walks, car rides, belly rubs, snuggles. There isn't much that doesn't makes him wiggle with delight! He also plays in cute little bursts - he'll some zoomies, then freezes in a play bow, looks to see if you're watching, then zoomies again! Then he's ready to go back to snuggling and getting loved on. He's thrilled to get out for walks, smiles from ear to ear the entire time, and he likes to bring a squeaky toy with him, which is pretty adorable. "Squeak, squeak, squeak," all the way home. After a walk or some playtime, he gets right next to you on the couch for some quality cuddles. Kent loves people, gives sweet kisses and rolls over for belly rubs every chance he gets. Find that right spot on his belly and he kicks his leg like crazy! He's super affectionate and goofy once he gets to know you, and he warms up quickly. When he met his virtual foster's boyfriend, he was all wiggles and happy vibes. He gave Kent some treats, and that was enough to seal their friendship. Kent has perfect manners in the home, is fully house-trained and doesn't get into any trouble when left home alone uncrated. He's content to sleep in a dog bed or jump and cuddle on the human bed when invited. Mostly, Kent just wants is to follow his human around to see what they're doing and even lend a hand if he can. When Kent's virtual foster takes him for sleepovers, she's got a constant companion for all her activities. If she goes to her closet to get dressed, Kent follows and looks up at her, tail wagging, ready to advise her on what she should wear. If she opens a cabinet or a closet door, his head goes right in sniffing about. If she's doing her hair in the bathroom, he sits on her foot to help keep her steady. And if he misses a beat, she'll say "Where's my buddy? I need help!" and Kent comes running! A people pleaser to his core and willing to do just about anything for a treat, it's no surprise that Kent is thriving in APA!'s Total Obedience Program (TOP), which modeled after the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. As a TOP dog, Kent has a personalized training plan and works with a volunteer trainer several times a week to help him learn skills like sitting calmly when approached by strangers or other dogs, staying in a sit or down until told "free," coming when called and "place," which means he will go to a specific place in your home on command. As part of APA's Total Obedience Program, you can work with APA staff to continue to build a training relationship with Kent after adoption and master all the TOP dog skills together. Check out a video on APA's CGC program, on which the TOP was based: https://vimeo.com/89434193 Kent is a fun and happy pup who wants nothing more than to be your sidekick in life, and he's going to make some lucky person very happy. Come meet him!

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
