Meet the Porch Pups!

This litter of adorable puppies are all little boys – Chickadee, Eddie Earl, Griffen, Levi, Pete, and Pippin. We are thinking these handsome dudes are a Border Collie mix.

The Porch pups are friendly with everyone they meet but since they are still so young, they haven’t met kids yet. They have been living in quiet, low traffic household since birth and think they would do best is a similar environment in their forever home.

As with all puppies, they need work on potty training, crate training, and leash training but think they should pick up these important skills quickly as they seem very smart. The pups love toys, especially ones that squeak, and are happy to chill with a toy when not playing with you!

All the Porch pups are eager to please, toy and treat motivated little squirts, so puppy training classes will be lots of fun! We strongly recommend that all our dogs attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization. The pups are pretty quiet, but you might hear them bark when playing.

Eddie Earl would love to find a forever family that has lots of time and patience to raise a puppy properly, and who has lots of extra time for loving and cuddles. If you are looking for a puppy, Eddie Earl, or one of his littermates, may be perfect for you! Fill out an application today and let him know that you'd love to have him join your family!

Porch pups’ story: The litter was accidental. The owner has agreed to spay their mom (Raven) and is looking for help in finding homes for these healthy happy pups.

Medical Note: This dog was treated for demodectic mange while in the SOS program. The dog has responded well to this treatment. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months or until 18 months of age. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange: http://www.vcahospitals.com/main/pet-health-information/article/animal-health/mange-demodectic-in-dogs/741. Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
