Name: Dylan      Best Guess for Breed:  Border Collie mix

Best Guess for Age:  2-3 years as of April 2021      Sex:  Male

 Approximate Weight:  30 lbs.

Gets Along With:  Dylan has done well with other dogs at the shelter - in fact he needs a confident, resident dog in the home to show him the ropes! We have not seen him with cats but he can be tested. Dylan should not go to a home with children under the age of 12 due to his shyness.

Currently Living at:  DC area foster home.

Special adoption considerations: Dylan tested positive for heartworm disease and has been treated on 4/27/21. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive often suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative.  Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the screening process.

Dylan is Looking For:  A great home with a resident dog where he can play and snuggle to his heart's content! Once Dylan has recovered from his heartworm treatment, he would love to go for long walks, run to his heart's content, and play new games with you. And he's eager to be a very good boy - some training would help him out! In the end, he's just looking for love, and in all the right places here!

What My Foster Says About Me:  Dylan is a sweet guys who wags his tail and likes to be petted, and needs some help coming out of his shell. He has a great appetite and is fully house broken.

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
TO ADOPT:  The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online HERE .
