Foster mom wants to let everyone know that I am learning how to get along with all of the other pups in my foster home.  She now feels that with time, patience and a slow introduction I would be able to share my new home with another dog.  So if that "only dog" requirement has been holding you back-- now is your time to send in that application!!  Hey-- I'm a Chihuahua, I'm picky and take my time making friends!!:) But I still don't like big dogs-- so no pups over 20 pounds for me

I have been neutered and am ready to go to my forever home. Since my intake, my foster parents have made a decision that I should be the only pup in the home. I have some jealousy tendencies that require me to be the only pup. When my family pays attention to another pup, my jealousy jumps out and I will pick a fight with that pup. Foster daddy is trying to teach me the right way to behave but it's taking a little longer.

Intake: 02-16-2021/Owner Surrender

Fenced yard required.

My name is Raffie and I am one handsome rare colored Chihuahua! I kid you not, how many other Chi's have you seen with my extraordinary coloring? Pretty rare. And ears, I'm all ears!

I came into rescue because I kept getting the family's Chi girl pregnant. Yup, two times. Since I was never neutered, it was a 'given' that this would happen.

It took me about 3 days to get acclimated to my foster home. Although I get along with all pups here, my favorite person is my foster dad. I shouldn't go to a forever home with larger dogs because they might misunderstand me. My foster Daddy has been by my side since I arrived and taught me to be nice to every pup. I do have separation anxiety, especially when Foster Daddy has to leave the house to run errands. I do talk a lot, just like a kitty would purr. I don't bite but I will show my teeth if you touch my tail and  I will give you my second stage of grumble. I need to come to you first to get warmed up. That generally takes a few minutes so be patient!

I have been vaccinated, microchipped and will be neutered on March 25th. My teeth are very clean and I need no extractions. I eat two meals a day, breakfast and dinner. And I am crate trained, and potty trained as long as you get me out every 4 hours to do my business. I have had no accidents in my foster home since I arrived.

My foster family will give you periodic updates on any of my behavior issues if anything changes. I truly am a more of a people pup than a pup-pup.

My adoption donation is $400.00

I will be available after April 3, 2021.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
