NAME:  Mario BREED:  Chihuahua mix SEX:  male COLOR:  red/white AGE:  2 yrs as of March 2021 WEIGHT:  7 lbs FOSTERED BY: LOCATED IN: NOTES FROM FOSTER FAMILY: June 2021 - Mario has done a complete 180 since he was rescued. He loves to be by your side and follows you everywhere. If you are sitting he wants to be in your lap and the center of attention. He is learning to play with toys and my dogs. Each day he plays a little more and shows more of his personality. Mario is house trained and does well in a crate at night. He walks well on a leash and enjoys going for walks. His fur is super soft and doesn’t shed much. He has a cute raspy bark but does not bark excessively. I am unsure of how he does around cats or children.  March  2021 - Mario came in as a stray with a couple other dogs. He is your typical chihuahua can be bossy and does things on his own terms. He is learning that he can trust us and becoming more friendly. Strangers and new situations make him nervous, with time and patience he can overcome that fear. Mario would do best in a home that has experience with chihuahuas. We are still learning about his personality, likes, and dislikes.    Due to COVID-19 we are a little more limited on volunteers and the availability (and safety) of home visits.   Local applications are given first priority and some out of town areas will not be able to be processed. At this time, we will only be able to process applications that have an excellent current vet history.  If you haven’t had a pet or verifiable vet history we will not be able to process your application.    If you are interested in adopting please complete our Adoption Application by copying and pasting the following link into your web browser: For a full list of dogs we currently have for adoption use this link: MEDICAL INFO: The following has been or will be done for this dog... - Basic Exam by Veterinarian - Spayed or Neutered - Heartworm Tested - Placed on heartworm preventive - Basic Bloodwork - Urinalysis - Microchipped - Intestinal Parasite Exam and medication - Vaccinations - Placed on Flea preventive ADOPTION DONATION: $300 This adoption donation helps to cover the vet expenses for this dog including heartworm preventive which is dispensed at the initial vet visit and then goes with the dog at adoption. FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
