Purr Partners Feline Rescue is a 501(c)(3), no-kill, foster-based, 100% all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving the lives of cats and kittens in North Carolina — over 4,000 lives saved since 2009.   We rescue cats and kittens from high kill shelters in rural North Carolina.

All of our cats and kittens are fulling vetted; we test for feline leukemia and FIV,  deworm, treat for fleas, vaccinate, spay or neuter, and microchip before finding these unwanted, helpless animals, permanent loving homes.

We are self-funded through adoption fees, donations, and fundraising events and have an annual budget of approximately $175,000.

Adoption events are held every weekend from 11:30 am - 3 pm.  We are proud to be a PetSmart Charities Adoption Partner and manage the PetSmart Adoption Centers in Wake Forest at 11835 Retail Drive and in Raleigh at Six Forks Station, 8825 Six Forks Road, and half-time at Capital Crossings, 2800 East Millbrook Road.

I was named Sweet Cheeks because I have the sweetest chubby cheeks that everyone just wants to rub, but that is OK with me! I love attention and having my cheeks rubbed. I am a very sweet natured, calm, gentle, and loving boy. 😺I am not exactly sure what happened to me. I know someone loved me at one time as their own kitty, but I found myself outside on my own for quite some time. I am so glad Purr Partners found me and brought me back inside where it is safe and comfortable. I have adjusted very well to my foster home. However, I may hide for a bit when you first get me home, but I know I will quickly adjust. My foster mom talks to me and I am happy to talk back . As I become confident in my new home, I will come out and want to be with you. I like to be wherever you are. My foster mom thinks I am a great co-worker.😺 I think I am still a kitten as I love to play! I have lots of toys that I chase around the house. I also have some interactive toys that I really enjoy. I am quite social and would really like a companion kitty that is just as playful and sweet natured as I am.😺Just so you know, I’m looking for a forever home that is safe and comfortable. After some time with my new human and forever home, I know that I’ll adjust. I’ll be your loving forever companion if you give me the opportunity. I’d love to meet you.🐈🐈From foster mom: Sweet Cheeks is a wonderful, loving, and gentle kitty and needs a person who is kind, compassionate and gentle. Someone that will be patient with him, a person that can give him attention, love. He has come such a long way from taking him into Purr Partners. I know Sweet Cheeks will be a loving and an endearing part of your family. Sweet Cheeks has tested positive for FIV, but it is not contagious to other cats except through deep puncture wounds like those caused in fights by two unneutered males. It is not transmitted by using the same food and water bowls, litter boxes or toys, and many of us have FIV cats happily living with non-FIV cats in our own homes. FIV positive cats, with good vet care such as you’d give to any cat, can live a normal life span. For more information or to apply to adopt please go to: https://www.purrpartners.org/adopt/
