Description:
Hi, my name is Barney! I'm estimated to be a Hound mix born around 4/9/2019. I came up to Wisconsin from Texas and weigh close to 54 pounds. I was adopted as a puppy and brought back because I was becoming aggressive with the other dog in the home. I am a dog that will do best with positive reinforcement training as I have bitten people before when spoken to and stared at harshly. Since coming back to the shelter, I have loved everyone here. I was great with the vet and I have wonderful manners. I keep my kennel clean and make human friends easily. I have the capability of being a wonderful dog but I do react when I feel threatened. Obedience classes for adult dogs and puppies can be incredibly helpful for both animals and humans. It helps you understand what makes me tick and will give me a better idea of what you want me to do. It’s a win/win and it will also strengthen the bond between us! Apply for me today!Staff notes on Barney: Barney is very smart. He does sit and shake, he likes people, but not other dogs. He loves to cuddle and play with toys, walks are fun and would be good for him to help with his energy. He takes treats very gently. But mainly wants human love whenever he can.My adoption fee has been sponsored! Adoption applications can be filled out at CCHS or online through our website, www.cchs-petshelter.org. Applications are not first come, first served. All applications will be reviewed by the adoption committee and the home chosen will be the one considered to be the best match. All dogs and puppies have been vaccinated for Distemper and Bordetella, dewormed and microchipped. If old enough, they will be vaccinated for Rabies and blood tested for Heartworm, Lymes, Anaplasmosis and Erlichiosis. Dogs and puppies will be spayed or neutered before adoption.CCHS is proud to be a No-Kill Humane Society. As a private, non-profit charity, our work depends on donations and volunteers to keep going. We are committed to helping the animals that enter our doors and finding each the best possible forever home. CCHS has been inspected and licensed by the Department of Animal Health - DATCP.
