(Yes, even though I said no more fosters after Remus)You see, Cheddar, in his 4 short years has had quite the wild story and we only know a small glimpse. He and his two buddies (I'll post their photo in the comments) were found on I-40, how they got there? We have no idea. They played a fun game of catch before finally going to Animal Control for their stray hold. Being the ol softy he is Jason (Piedmont Animal Rescue) committed to helping these dogs before he even had fosters, he was that set on helping them. Finding fosters for a decent sized hound male is not always the easy task, so I sent their sob story to Austin to see if we could give this guy a place to stay until he found his forever home. (Spoiler alert, he said yes.)After talking to a few people I find this guy hadn't been handling the shelter environment too well and had a few moments of grumpiness. That's fine, I like a little challenge. I expected the worst when I went to pick him up. But that wasn't what I got. I never would have guessed he's only 4 years old because let me tell you this guy has the sweetest old soul. He loved the ride home and traveled wonderfully, he wants nothing more than to be near his human, and has the sweetest and mildest personality. He is crate trained and is shockingly quiet for a hound. I undoubtedly believe he does not handle stress well (who am I to judge?) Therefore I am not doing any intros to the pack for at least a week however I'll make an update post afterwards. Overall? This guy will be an amazing addition and I cannot wait to find him his perfect family. If you (or anyone you know) is interested please reach out to Piedmont Animal Rescue - PAR The adoption fee is $300 which includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you.The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match.
