Max came to the shelter after his previous owners moved and abandoned him. Their neighbors provided food and water for Max until he was brought to us. Since being here, we've started to learn what a sweet, good boy Max is. He pulls a little on leash but its just because he loves to walk, sniff and explore, whether its in a yard or out in the world! After getting the lay of the land, Max loves leaning in for a good butt scratch. If you stop petting him, he will slowly put his chin on your lap and look at you with sad eyes until you resume petting him. At the shelter he hasn't been super interested in toys or treats, but in a home where he feels safe and loved he will continue to blossom and show his personality. If you have room in your heart and home for a sweet, older guy who's had a rough life but is ready to start a new life with someone new, come in and visit Max! He'd love to meet you.
