RESCUING LINKIN

Saldy, Linkin, formerly known as Shrek, had to be rescued from a rescue when a nonprofit rescue organization was raided in South Georgia. There were 70+ dogs on the property in horrific conditions. Shrek was living in a crate, had not been neutered, was a little thin, and infested with fleas. We had a foster step up and we were able to take him into our program on 2/6/2020. Linkin has no teeth and was treated for a double ear infection and skin infection from a severe flea dermatitis. It's hard to imagine what he has endured, but it's only uphill from here!

ABOUT LINKIN

Linkin is really enjoying that fostered life, outside the confinements of just a crate. Linkin is house trained and crate trained. He is good with other dogs and even his picky, canine foster-sister loves him! Due to his past neglect and lack of food, Linkin does not share food with other dogs and needs to be fed separately so he just eats his meals in his crate. He does well with kids, but is not suited for a home with cats. He is a low energy, lounge around, Netflix-and-Chill kinda guy. He always wants to be with his people and is a true velcro-dog as he will follow you from room to room. Next to his people, his favorite thing is food - any and all of the food! He already knows the commands sit, shake, and wait. Linkin is a sweet, affectionate boy who biggest joys are napping, car rides, snacks, and cuddling.

Linkin loves his people and is very loyal so he would really love someone who is home a lot. He sleeps most of the day, but follows his foster mom around the house, never letting her out of his sight. He can go on short walks, but doesn't enjoy being outside for long periods of time. He is looking for a forever family to lounge around with that will give him all the belly rubs and attention he lacked for so long. His past life has somehow left him with chronic Emphysema/COPD so his lungs have a lot of scar tissue from a previous unknown trauma. The cough he's had since we rescued him has gotten significantly better, but it's still lingering. Our vet seems to think Linkin may have some kind of immune deficiency due to his skin flare ups and chronic respiratory issues, but we are working on finding what works for him.
