Chance is the name of this fluffy fella. In 2018 Chance was in a high kill facility and needed our help. Chance arrived to us covered in ticks and getting sick. Once we had his nursed back to health he showed us how happy and goofy he is. A few months later Chance was adopted. In early 2020 he had become protective of his new human and had an issue with her boyfriend. For safety Chance was returned to us. Chance lives in a foster home with a male and female and does not show these behaviors to them. Chance has been adopted briefly to another home where he would growl and lunge at the man of the house but never the woman or son. We have introduced him to many men at stores and in home and have yet to have an issue with him ourselves. We are looking for a specific type of home for Chance to help him succeed in finding his forever home.

For Chance we are looking for a home that will have no kids, no cats, no dogs under 40lbs, no other small animals. All of that is due to his prey drive and history. Chance will also need a home that is able

to walk him or use tie outs

to let him out. He will run away off lead and can escape a secure privacy fence by climbing over it.

The most important thing we will be looking for is someone with experience working with dogs or the ability to work

closely with a trainer to overcome any issues that come up.

Chance is a happy, bouncy, sweet boy.

He is 4-5 years old and about 40lbs.

He loves hard and wants to show his affection to anyone he trusts. Chance loves other dogs once he gets to know them but does not like to be rushed by them at first or he will become defensive. He has 7 other dogs in his foster home and he gets along with everyone great. He is kennel trained, house trained, and has leash manners once he gets in the groove. We hope to find Chance the perfect home to work with him if things get tough and love him endlessly as he will them.

He has a history of being a runner but is comfortable on leash and on a tie out. He can escape a secure fence. He is house and kennel trained. Chance is a happy guy looking for a lifelong companion to help him be the fantastic guy he can be! If your family could use a wonderful fur friend like Chance  please go to our website at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org to fill out the dog adoption application. Chance is ready for his forever home and his foster family is ready to rescue another pup in need.  His adoption fee is $225.00_ and he is fully vetted and Microchipped.
