AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION IN SOUTH CAROLINA OR VERMONT Meet Mikey! Here is a video in Vermont: https://youtu.be/53WMwnM0Gc4 Mikey is 3 years old (approx. DOB 3-16-18), male, 30 lbs., vetted, is or will be neutered, and micro-chipped Mikey is the sweetest, happiest, most loving boy. He’s a dapper, dandy and handsome dude! He’s approximately 4 years old and 30 lbs, fully vetted, heart worm neg and neutered. Mikey is high energy and looking for an active guardian who will take him places and keep him entertained and experiencing life. His person needs to be dog savvy and able to “read” what Mikey has to say. Mikey needs... An active life style, A home with a fenced yard, No small/young children, Best to be paired with a well balanced female dog, A dog savvy person, willing to help Mikey transition to a new home. Mikey’s accomplishments... Walks well on leash and loves to go, Learning to ride calmly in a car either with a bully stick to chew or with the window cracked (while tethered) so he can look out and smell the roses, Crate trained and does well with enough exercise and a Kong or chew, Sleeps through the night, Is not a nuisance barker. Mikey is currently in a foster home with 3 medium sized females. He is walked daily, is learning house manners and training, how to calmly sit and wait before coming through a doorway or getting in and out of the car. He has to sit, stay and look his foster mom in the eye before his food bowl is placed on the ground. Watching him learn to TEAR his eyes away from the bowl in order to be fed was hysterical! He likes hanging in the yard, lying in the sun and leaps as he chases his ball. Mikey will be man or woman’s best friend if given a bit of time to trust, adapt and settle in. He’s a Passion 4 Paws rescue who is available for adoption, foster to adopt or foster in Upstate SC and surrounding area. Stay tuned for more information as Mikey is a new rescue! If you are interested in adopting Mikey please fill out an Application at www.Passion-4-Paws.org (please make sure you have the Vermont site not CT) - thanks! Please note Fosters have 1st option of Adoption. Check out his Facebook page (please "Like" us while you are there)! Disclosure: Breed labels are often incorrect: we rarely know the genetic lineage of the dogs we rescue. Many shelters and rescues specify breeds based on appearance; however, research has shown that less than 2% of a dog’s DNA determines appearance! Passion 4 Paws does not practice the use of labels pertaining to compatibility with others or dog breed. Labels such as “dog friendly” and “child friendly” should be used with caution as they often over-simplify the personalities and behavior of dogs.
