Pet name:
Bella Christina
American Bulldog

A friend rescued Bella (spayed) about 4 years ago from Animal Services, she was 2 years old at the time and had a history of abuse. She was medicated, had heart worms, and we were told she could not be returned as "she had been returned twice before because of aggression". she would constantly shake, was afraid of everyone, especially tall men, and I have no doubt she was beaten or used for breeding.

She CANNOT go back to animal services- no matter what! she will be put down because she was unfairly flagged- she is a sweet loving dog, but when they took her there she was terrified and shaking!

About 2 years after that, my friend had to permanently leave the country to take care of his mother. Bella came to stay with me. She went from a fearful, shaky, timid doggo who was specifically scared of males, to a new doggy who LOVED EVERYONE (including my extremely persistent schnauzer and rescue kitten).

From that time to now, I went through a divorce, now as the only salary for the home Im working 80-90 hours a week, and in the summer Im leaving to the military. Shes alone all day most days, except for the schnauzer (whos in heart failure), and Bonaparty the cat who belongs to a friend. I have a friend come in and be with them a few hours a day, but its still not fair.

Bellas favorite thing to do is cuddle on the couch and fall asleep with ANY human. She takes a bit to adjust to new animals, but with controlled exposure she starts loving them (youll see in the pics).

Currently Bella is heartworm free, (has been on prevention since right after initial adoption), has always been up to date on her shots, has no medical issues (other than not knowing how to swim- but she can with a life jacket), and just needs a happy home and owner who will be there to give her all the love she deserves.

Its simply not fair to her to keep her out of my own selfishness knowing she needs more attention and cuddles.

Attached are some pictures.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
