Description:
Mary is a delightful puppy! She loves wrestling with her brother, hanging out in the back yard (for snoozing and exploring), belly rubs, and trying to keep up with the big dogs. She sleeps nicely in her crate, and is learning potty training and ""sit."" The most endearing thing about her is how she runs up to me after even a short absence, like I am her favorite person in the world! She can be a little shy at first meeting, but its not long before her natural personality takes over and shes eager to play and snuggle with any newcomer. I think she would do well with any other animals in the household. She has shown herself to be friendly and playful with other dogs in the household. With the chickens she is not aggressive, only curious, so I think it would be the same for meeting cats.

She is big, beautiful and brainy - a good five pounds bigger than her brother, she takes the lead in their games and will be a wonderful companion for adventures. She is smart and a bit of a climber. (She figured out how to climb over the puppy gate within a couple of days of moving in, and we had to come up with a different arrangement.) But shes not really destructive, shes just looking to play, and is easy to redirect if she starts doing something she shouldnt. She is an active dog and wants to please! She will need attention and basic training to become her best adult self, but she is so smart I am sure she will learn quickly.

She eats well but is not greedy, and has grown from 18 lbs to 24 lbs in less than a month. Her paws suggest she has quite a bit more growing to do, too! Her short fur is beautifully silky. I cant say enough good things about this girl! If you have an active home, with or without other dogs, and preferably with a yard, she would be the ideal puppy for you.

This animal is in a foster home. If you would like to meet this animal, please go to www.souldog.org to fill out an adoption application. Once the application is reviewed our adoptions coordinator will reach out to you.

If you have other dogs in the home and are meeting a dog you must bring them for the meet and greet. If you rent, you must provide proof animals are allowed. When submitting your adoption application make sure to submit a good clear picture of your living room, kitchen, and yard.

Filling out an adoption application does not mean you will be adopting the animal. Doing a meet and greet with one of our animals does not guarantee you are adopting the animal. We will select the family we feel is the best choice for that animal after screening and meeting applicants.
