Meet Vanessa- again! Sweet Vanessa came to us earlier this summer and right off transport we knew something wasnt right. We could feel a severe "whooshing" in her chest indicating a heart murmur. Heart murmurs can be caused by many things and can go away on their own so we were hopeful this playful, happy puppy would have good news and be able to go home right away just like her siblings. Thankfully, Norwichtown was able to squeeze us in an appointment with their visiting cardiologist to get Vanessa the echo-cardiogram she needed to figure out what was going on.

Unfortunately, the news was not good: a heart value that should have closed shortly after birth didnt. Left untreated, it would cause Vanessas heart to continue to enlarge- giving this sweet girl a couple of years to live at best.

But there was hope! If Vanessa had a very expensive heart surgery as soon as possible she would get to live out a normal life. Amazingly, the kind and generous vet working with our partner shelter agreed to take on Vanessas case. With all of us crying, we sent her back to Georgia with our amazing transport team to get the surgery so so desperately needed.

Now Vanessa is back!! Shes a happy and HEALTHY and playful puppy who has come a long way (twice!!) in search of her forever family. This sweet girl deserves the best and we know the perfect family is out there and ready for her this time Apply today at!

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
