Description:
Violet is a mix puppy around 10 months old. Her 3 siblings look more like Boxers and have big square heads, unlike Violet. She is currently 45lbs and growing. She is solid, but not as muscular as her siblings. Violet is fairly quiet, but does bark some times when she plays. She also screams with excitement when I first get home! She loves other dogs of all sizes and does not have any issues getting along with food or toys so far. She loves toys and playing! She will need to have a large collection of toys. She would do best in a home with another dog. She would love a dog that will play with her, but when she is done she wants to go take a nap and doesnt want to be pestered any more lol. She is good with my older 2 dogs and plays with the other 3 fosters. She has done great meeting dogs of all sizes and ages here.
She was found running in a field along with 7 others. So sadly we dont know their history, but from doing this so long I would imagine they were born outisde and were fed and pet, but never picked up and loved. I doubt they were ever let inside. They were scared to come inside, but not now! Of course a new house may take some time getting use to.
I have had her since March 16th and she has gotten pretty comfy! She plays and romps all over the house now, but the living room and the couch is her favorite and most comfortable area. The slick floors scared her to start with, but I laid down more rugs for her and now she is fine with all the floors. We are Working on being comfortable being put in to the car, on the exam table, in the bath tub and things like this. She shows zero concerns of fear biting, you can just tell she is uncomfortable and doesnt know what to do if her feet arent touching the floor. Again, she is getting so much better with this!
Violet is getting better with strangers in general, but she was a bit of a tough cookie to crack with new people. She bonded with us fairly quickly and is doing better with visitors, especially inside. She is now letting some people pet her outside on their first meeting. If you are sitting on the couch, she will make fast friends, but not fully trust you. Once she settles in, she will be your best friend. She Loves to snuggle and be with you. Issue being, she may not show very well at a meet and greet, but I can guarantee she will love you within a few days of taking her home if she is allowed on the couch with you. I think she would do best in a home with someone who will continue to socialize her and show her the world isnt that scary! She will run and play in the yard while small kids are here, but if one walked in her direction she would run. Now she is starting to make friends with the kids and really likes my friends 5 year old. She does regress a bit when she gets scared though, so Im not sure young kids in home is a great idea. It could shock me though and maybe she needs kids. Her sister Greenlee, loves kids.
We do not allow any children to chase or even follow her so that it doesnt further scare her.
Violet is crate trained and I think Im ready to say House trained as well! I typically have only been crating her for 8 hours at bedtime. She will now go in on her own for treats at bedtime! Im so proud of her. I do take her out in the yard and walk around with them to potty right before crate time

Violet is going to need a home with patients, time and love. She wouldnt hurt a fly but she is learning all about real love and is a little unsure about some things.
Violet is sweet, funny, and playful once she opens open up and Such a CUDDLE bug. She likes to play play play but then she wants to nap. When she is done, she is done and she wants to be cuddled up to her humans or her dog friends(even if they dont like her). She always wants to lay with my male pit who wants nothing to do with her but he tolerates it when she sneaks next to him all quiet and snuggles in!
Violet loves water and has discovered swimming and is such a fish!! She also likes to lounge in the dog pool when she gets hot.

FENCED yard is needed for this girl. Unfortunately she could jump a 4ft fence when i first got her. She isnt a runner, but in the beggining when she is nervous of a new place I dont want to chance her bolting, or reverting on house training because she isnt getting outside time.
We have been working on the leash for vet appointments and outings, but I do need to work with her more to be comfortable taking a walk on leash.
Even though they are predominantly Boxer type, we can not adopt them to areas or housing that bully breeds are ban.
Their adoption fee will be $150 and that includes spay, all vetting up to date, and microchip.
They are currently near Waverly Mo.
