Meet Samora! Samora is an adorable Cattle-dog mixed breed girl whos approximately 9-10 weeks old and around 15 pounds. This adorable girl is as sweet as can be and is ready to find her forever person or family! Since she is still a young puppy, Samora would do best with a person or family who is willing to put the time into raising her, with plenty of exercise, training, play time, and socialization. Samora and her 3 siblings and mom, Cali, were found in a ghost town in California, where a couple came across them while on a road trip. The couple saw Samoras mom run across the street, and so they followed her to where they were "living, which was a cardboard box tucked behind an abandoned building. The couple then brought momma dog, Cali and her 4 puppies to Street Dog Hero where they lived until they were old enough to be fostered. This sensitive girl has been through a lot in her short life, but she hasnt let this bring her down! She is now ready to give you a lifetime of love! Samora was rescued in California and is now being fostered by a family in Oregon. Will you be her hero?

steps to adopting

Adoption applications will be kept on file for 1 year and can be applied towards multiple adoptions within that time frame.

The first step to adopting a dog from SDH is to complete the adoption application (Click on the orange "Start the Application Process" button above). The application takes a few days to be approved. Once completed and approved it is good for multiple adoptions and saved for future use.

To finalize an adoption you must complete the contract and pay an adoption fee of $500. The adoption fee helps cover our costs. On average, per dog, it costs between $500-$700 for vetting, transport, sterilization and more. All dogs are rescued and do not transport to SDH until they are healthy and ready to be adopted. All dogs are vetted before they fly, given standard vaccines and rabies, dewormed, given flea/tick treatments and tested for heartworm. Most dogs are sterilized before they fly, however if this is not the case we will spay/neuter them once they arrive at our cost.

Upon arrival all dogs are seen for a wellness exam and parasite screening. Any parasite treatment necessary is at our expense.

Once the adoption is finalized, any further medical care or treatment will not be covered by SDH, unless discussed prior. All known issues are disclosed to the best of our ability prior to finalizing the adoption.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
