On Oct 16th , Were excited to be welcoming Lil into the Fetch + Releash family! As a foster-to-adopt family, you’ll be expected to take her home that same day. You will then have two weeks to get to know your new furry house guest before committing to adoption. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to move forward with adoption, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving home until their new forever family can be found.

Each bio was created by our rescue partners based on their interactions with the dogs. Fetch + Releash has a full disclosure policy however we cannot guarantee a dog against parasites or diseases, nor can we guarantee a dog’s nature/behaviour. Many of these dogs are coming directly from the shelter and so you should expect there to be a transitional period. Be prepared to deal with common issues like potty training, leash walking and socialization. Cat and kid safety assessments are often based on their personality and not necessarily on actual interactions.

Where possible, the majority of vetting will be completed prior to coming to Canada, however foster-to-adopt families may be required to travel to our partner vet Mississauga, ON for further vet care.

During your foster-to-adopt trial, you’ll receive the support of a Fetch + Releash mentor to help you through the transition and answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Foster-to-adopt families will be required to pay a $200 deposit on the adoption fee and sign our foster-to-adopt waiver in advance. If you choose not to adopt, your $200 will be refunded to you within 30 days of your dog being adopted into a new family provided you see your pup through to adoption. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit.

Lil / Female / Approx. 8 months / 17 lbs / Dachshund Mix / from Tennessee

Lil is a sweet but shy little girl looking for a family to bring out her true colours! She was discovered in a hoarding situation, living alongside 19 other dogs and minimal care or attention. Despite not having an ideal start to life, Lil is ready for a fresh start and a family she can love.

She is currently living with a foster family in Tennessee where she’s slowly learning about how a dog’s life should be! That said, she’s a work in progress so her new family should be prepared to work with her on all aspects of Canadian living - from walking on a leash, puppy training, crate comfort, potty training, obedience and confidence.

She is medium energy and given her size and general personality, Lil would suit most living environments as long as her exercise needs are met. She would do well having a sibling or few - whether they be canine or human. This sweet girl is just looking for love and someone to show her how great her life can be.
