Update 9/18/2022. Dascha is developing into a well mannered, gentle young lady with all signs pointing towards the making of a super dog. She’s very eager to please and pays close attention to her humans reactions. She’s mastered Sit and has progressed with Shake. Dascha has also learned she’s only supposed to chew her toys. She’s been introduced to frisbee and determined it’s the best sport ever. At the moment she fetches her frisbee once it’s landed but we hope to advance her to mid-air catching where her high jump skills will truly shine. Her next goal is to become comfortable with the dreaded crate (she’s more of a free-range gal). Dascha is the most gentle dog with children that her foster mom has ever seen. No matter the child’s size, Dascha immediately sits beside kids, gently leans in for pets, and may treat them to a single kiss. We’ve also noticed all other dogs seem to enjoy her company. She’ll make a wonderful family addition.

Posted 8/13/2022. Dascha is a dog of questionable origins and unique character. On the outside she appears to be a medium (40 pounds) Shepherd, Beagle, Hound mix born around Valentines Day 2022. On the inside, she may be mixed with Jack Rabbit as displayed by her unique running style. After a short bout of zoomies, Bear mode kicks in causing her to take a long snoring nap. She’s an avid toy collector with the squirrel instincts to stash her most coveted possessions under the sofa. She has the aggression of a lamb unless a stuffed toy is involved, causing her to shred her plushie prey like a lion. Her appetite is dainty like a bird, however she drinks like a dolphin with her face snout-deep in her dish. She’d enjoy a home with stairs and a yard with hills or an adopter with a love for hiking. Dascha is a puppy but is easily redirected, desires to please and is learning her indoor manners and basic commands. She’s just about accident-free after just 2 weeks in her foster home. Dascha has never met a stranger or creature she didn’t like. She’s overflowing with love and kisses. As a social creature, she’d prefer another dog sibling to help mentor her to be a dog. She’d thrive with children and a family to love.

Adoption application, home visit and adoption fee required. If you would like to apply for adoption, please complete the online application at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com. Look under ADOPT tab. Contact generalinfo@furryfriendsnetwork.com for questions or if issues are encountered with the adoption application or general adoption process.

Foster Homes are desperately needed in order to help more animals like this one. Please consider opening your heart and home to a homeless animal. To find out more about becoming a Foster Parent, see our website at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com. Look under VOLUNTEER tab.

As part of our adoption agreement, we require that you and your adopted canine attend a minimum of one group basic obedience course within 4 months of adoption. If adopting a puppy under 4 months old, we also require a group puppy socialization course be started immediately upon adoption.

In addition, we require that puppies under 6 months of age will not be alone for more than 4 hours at a time in an 8 hour workday. We highly encourage working families to consider older puppies and adult dogs, but if your heart is set on a puppy, please consider doggie daycare.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
