RAISSA is a lovely bi-black Sheltie who is 5 years old.
This sweet but timid girl takes time to become acquainted with new people and to trust them as she has had limited socialising in her previous home.  She has just come back from a camping trip which she thoroughly enjoyed and met new people on her walks.

Raissa loves playing with other respectful dogs who are not overbearing.  After watching the dogs in her foster home (with whom she plays and gets along very well) she now loves fetching toys and playing with her foster mom.  She has become a very affectionate girl!

Raissa has no issues with travelling in the car although that has not been part of her former life.  

As part of her complete vetting, Raissa has also had a full dental to ensure a good, healthy mouth.  She has no medical issues at all.

 A home with another respectful dog is needed for this amazing girl as she has grown up with multiple dogs all her life.

If you have a securely fenced yard and are interested in adopting RAISSA or any of our dogs, the first step is to complete an Adoption Application at www.sosr.ca/apply-to-adopt so that we can determine whether you are a good match for one of the dogs. If we have a possible match, you would then have a telephone interview, speak to the foster mom, have home visit by one of our volunteers and vet reference check. Once you have been approved for adoption you can then meet the dog at his foster home. At that time, if you would like to have him as a new family member, you would complete the adoption paperwork and take him home.     When new dogs come into rescue, they will first be posted on our Facebook page and then our Petfinder page when ready for adoption.   sheltierescuesos.petfinder.com
