Description:
Meet Honey! Honey is a 2 year old Shih Tzu/Terrier mix who is looking for a very special forever home.

Honey was found as a stray in really rough shape. She was absolutely miserable - she was missing a lot of hair on her body and face, her skin was red and inflamed, and she simply didnt feel well. It was diagnosed as untreated/neglected allergies, and she was immediately started on treatment.

Honeys skin is still recovering, but shes already improving immensely! Her hair is growing back, her skin is no longer red and sore, and her energy came through! She is SO spunky and feisty and energetic, definitely a girl who will make you laugh on a daily basis. While her skin regenerates, we will be up front - shes a bit stinky. Her skin, right now, has a bit of a yeasty smell to it. This will take time, so please bear with her. Shes currently getting a medicated bath twice a week, but our hope is that once she makes a full recovery, she can likely be reduced to these baths about once or twice a month.

Honey will be a girl whose owners will need to maintain her allergies for the rest of her days. This will likely mean limited-ingredient diets, allergy meds (shes currently on Apoquel every day), and regular vet checks to make sure everything looks ok. For those of you who have had "allergy dogs" before, you know this isnt that big of a deal, it simply means you have to maintain her regularly. Good thing she loves her baths!

Honey is playful, spunky, and ready for adventure. She loves to be outside, go for walks, and play! She even does the little "terrier nibble" with her mouth on your shoes and pant legs if she wants to entice play time. Shes just a hoot! Once shes settled, she makes a great binge-watching buddy.

Honey should do well with kids and other pets. She will need an active and devoted family, and one who doesnt mind helping her with her itchy lil body. Shes just a bundle of love!

We can set up a time for you to meet Honey in person after an adoption application has been approved (see link below). Honey is spayed and current on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $180.00
