This sweetie is Darla, and she is ready to find a family to be her everything! She is 2-3 years old and about 40 lbs with short legs and a big smile! 
Darla is treat motivated and will sit patiently for a snack. She loves to hug you, cuddle, and give you kisses! 
She came to Take Paws pregnant, neglected, and heartworm positive. Now that her puppies are weaned and all in forever homes, she has completed her heartworm treatment and will be spayed soon. 
Darla is house trained and crate trained. She has not lived with a cat before, and says she wants all your love to herself - no other doggos please. She is great with all people and kids!
She’s a bit greedy, with your love and with her food! She loves to eat! She will follow you everywhere and sit when told.
She’s super excited though about the possibility of joining your family! We think she’d even love to have some small humans around to love on! 

*Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our puppies live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!

Due to the number of inquires received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (a single application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescues vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information. 

2020 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals:
Puppies under 12 months - $300
Dogs over 12 months - $200
