Elmsford, NY, 10523
Pet name:
American Staffordshire Terrier
Red / Chestnut / Orange

KIRY was an owner surrender to the NYCACC, the NYC municipal shelter which is a kill shelter. The reason they gave him up was apparently a heart murmur. He lived his whole life outside in a dog house with another dog. the fed him one small cup of food a day.

At the shelter he was nervous but maintained a neutral position. He accepted all handling and leaned in for contact.

He was slated for euthanasia but a foster saw him and had to save him. We are so grateful to that foster,

Kiry needs to be the only pet in the home. He is a senior dog who kinda waddles like a duck and needs to not have to tackle stairs to get to his family. He would do best on a single level in a home with an easily accessible yard. Kiry previously lived outside and loves to be outside so a fenced in yard or deck where he can hang out would be great.

Kiry is very sweet, he loves to give kisses and to be pet. Heโ€™s still got a lot of love left to give to a new family

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
