Murdock is 9 pounds of Bichon cuteness. At the age of seven, he is finally getting a chance to learn to be a dog. Murdock loves other dogs. He loves to play with little dogs and big dogs who are friendly. Take him outside and he will entertain you as he runs and plays with his doggie friends.

Murdock will need a family with no kids under 16 and a secure yard with a 4 fence. He does get nervous and can get snappy or run like the wind if he gets scared. He will need a patient family who will work with him at his own speed and give him a chance to come out of his shell.

Murdock does have a medical condition (grade 6 heart murmur) which will require monitoring and prevent him from living to a very ripe old age, but there is so much love and fun for this special boy to experience. Can you give Murdock a home and a chance to learn living the life of a dog?

If you would like to meet this feisty boy, please submit an application to adopt Murdock, visit https://nmdr.org/our-dogs/adopt/

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. Many of our dogs will need fenced yards and a confident dog in the family. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Learn about mill dogs and fill out an application at our website: http://nmdr.org If you submit an application, please watch your spam folders as their emails land there and give us 48 hours to get back to you - there are a lot of other dogs hoping that their new persons application is being processed as well.
