Mercury is an adorable 7-month-old Chihuahua blend who weighs approximately 12 pounds. Prior to arriving to our rescue, Mercury had a horrendous life. He was forced as a puppy to survive on the streets in a South Texas town. He often struggled to find food and clean water and was attacked by larger dogs. He eventually was impounded by one of the worse shelters in the country but we transferred him to our rescue because we knew he deserved a second chance. Mercury is quickly responding to attention and affection. He would do well in an only-dog home. Once he bonds with you, he will make a loyal companion.
Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for his entire life (up to 15+ years or more) - not just until his puppy cuteness wears off.
You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Like most puppies, he may chew on anything within his reach to include but not limited to baseboards, shoes, socks, childrens toys, electrical cords, plants, etc.
His adoption fee is $250. This includes his neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac Canine 1-DAPP vaccinations, Bravecto, Drontal Plus, Tri-Heart Plus Chewable Tablet, 24PetWatch microchip, and leash and collar.
Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org.
Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary references, and criminal histories.
Our adoption events are held each Saturday at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio TX 78232. Event hours are 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
