After a stint in the shelter and not really having a good time, Hereford is doing GREAT in his foster home. His foster mom Melissa says: Hereford is a wonderful kitty! He took a few days to warm up but has gotten comfortable with me at my home and loves to cuddle up on/next to me. He is treat motivated but also loves head scratches, belly pets and talks back with his teeny little mews. He will waltz back and forth purring while I pet him head to tail. He likes to play with his feather fishing pole toy but spends most of his time napping. Hes a horizontal and vertical scratcher and loves perching in his cat tree, stretching on his tall scratcher and uses his cardboard horizontal scratchers. Hereford is a very laid back kitty in a laid back atmosphere. If theres more activity going on, he can be vocal and gets a little restless. When not much is happening, Hereford is purring and getting cozy in his favorite spots. He will sleep uninterrupted for hours and has not exhibited any late night misbehaviors to wake me up and doesnt get zoomies. He sleeps in and pretty much stays silent unless he thinks youre talking to him or thinks you have food for him. He will do a lot of things in anticipation of a treat and will often come when called for. If he is in the right mood he will even tolerate light brushing and getting his claw tips clipped. He doesnt care to be held but will tolerate being picked up and placed back down respectfully. He is not too shy to approach visitors especially if they might have some food! Hereford would make a wonderful companion to anyone looking for a chill cat that loves to nap, cuddle and enjoy the single life!
