This happy boy is Sam. Sam is a Fox Terrier. He is 10 months old and weighs 28 pounds. Sam comes with a rescue story. Sam was found by golfers on a golf course. They recognized right away that this pup needed some help so they took him home and started making calls. Sam was very thin and covered in flea and ticks, but that wasn’t his biggest issue. Sam’s tail had been degloved. All the skin and hair on his tail had been stripped off. This was extremely painful, so we directed them to take him to a vet in their area that could take care of such an injury. Sam spent a little over a week there getting his wound dressed daily and on pain medication. After a week he had recovered enough and had enough granulated skin at the base of his tail that they could amputate the tail. Sam no longer has a tail, not even a nub, but it isn’t hard to tell when he is happy even without a wagging tail. Sam gets along well with other dogs and children and is always happy to meet new friends. He is not good with cats, he thinks they are too much fun to chase. As a young dog he enjoys playing with toys, taking walks and romping through his yard. Sam does need a fenced yard where he can play safely. Sam is housetrained and kennel trained. He is a very loving and outgoing dog that puts a smile on your face. Sam is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, heartworm tested and microchipped.
