Description:
Meet Wyatt the very reason rescue exists. To know why this beautiful soul deserves nothing but an amazing future you need to know his past. At 1.5 yrs old, Wyatt has lived most of his life in a kennel with only 20 minutes of freedom each day. Wyatt came to us caked in feces and urine... underweight, undersocialized, and hopeless. For 546 days this was his life... but no more! You might be thinking there cant be any more to the story but, to top it off, Wyatt has been blind since birth. This big, young boy is terrified of the world, and rightfully so. Men have not been kind to him, so Wyatt needs a human mom that will teach him how to be a loved and spoiled pup. Wyatt needs a calm, quiet home with no children, as a lot of noise is very scary for him... in fact, the quieter the better. A securely fenced yard is important so Wyatt can learn about this world on his own time and lounge in the cool grass while the sunshine warms his tired, young body. At this time, the world is a very scary place for Wyatt and he just needs time to adjust and time to love.

Wyatt needs his future family to be highly experienced with blind dogs or we request that Wyatt be adopted within 50 miles of the Omaha area to benefit from continued training. Right now, he is very nervous and trying to adjust to his new surroundings so he hasnt been tested with other animals. As he builds confidence and finds comfort in his new life well get a better idea of his personality and furever needs. Wyatt would love to have a hero on his side who will help him see that the future is full of kindness, that the world isnt so scary, and that a second chance is the best chance. If youve ever wanted to be a dogs hero and truly transform a life, apply to be Wyatts forever.

Please Note: Wyatt will need an highly experienced adopter with blind dog experience, or he will need to be adopted within 50 miles of Omaha so he can take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainer.

The suggested adoption donation for Wyatt is $265. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2020 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $241,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.

Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animals foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.

If this pet is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption due to limited vetting availability, a voucher will be given to the adopter for a free spay/neuter procedure at Val Verde Animal Hospital. Spay/neuters completed elsewhere will be reimbursed $80/dog or $55/cat once proof of alteration has been received by Muddy Paws. Alterations are REQUIRED for all Muddy Paws adoptions. The adoption contract states alters must be done within ONE month of the adoption date or the adopter will be in breach of the contract. Adopters are required to provide proof of alteration to Muddy Paws Rescue immediately following the procedure. Thank you in advance for your compliance.

Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animals needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
