Meet Sam! 
This spunky big guy was brought to BrightSide as an owner surrender to find a home with as much love as he has to give! Brought to us August 3rd, 2022, Sam is a big sweetheart, emphasis on big, weighing 80-90 pounds at two and a half years old. Same is a beautiful tan sweetheart with a dusty dark brown line running perfectly down his back, his big longue sticks out of his mouth ready to give as many kisses as he can, and his gorgeous brown eyes are so full of excitement it’s hard not to smile big when you meet him! Here at the shelter, Sam is very good at making himself comfortable and right at home as he is a confident and brave pup always ready for what’s going on! In a playful outdoor setting, Sam is a funny and playful dog who loves to roughhouse and chase! Sam’s favorite activities in the shelter have been his outdoor playtime where he can run and jump around in a large safely fence area. Our staff, volunteers, and potential adopters describe Sam as energetic, playful, and goofy making him a perfect playful adventure buddy lifelong! Sam, being a big boy, is still working on his control of his body while being over excited, and would benefit from an adopter ready to continue these helpful steps in making him the best dog he can be! When it comes to basic obedience and overall training, Sam would benefit from an adopter ready to continue working with him. He knows sit and off but doesn’t have the biggest obedience vocabulary as previously he sadly hasn’t had an individual take the time to bond and help him learn more. Sam also does need leash training, although we are working with him here at the shelter he would benefit most with patience and repetition beside someone he has bonded with. When it comes to training, Sam is very treat and socially motivated giving him so much potential to grow in his abilities! Overall, Sam is a very loving and affectionate dog who is eager and excited for an adopter willing to help him become as good of a boy as he can be! Sam is ready for a lifelong adventure buddy who shares his excitement for life. This big sweet boy has been doing well with other dogs here at the shelter however we require a meet and greet between Sam and other dogs in the home to ensure the best fit! Sam is looking for a home with no cats as he does have an excitable drive towards felines that would make it unsafe for all animals involved. Sam will be waiting here for you to come and meet him!
