Meet COOPER!
1 year old male Goldendoodle
LOCATION: Pensacola, FL
NEEDS: 6 ft privacy fenced yard, activity and attention.
HIGHLIGHTS: Affectionate once he gets to know you, he will be a good companion once he learns to dog.

Cooper is a 1 year old, 46 pound Goldendoodle who was owner surrendered to us. He wasnt very well socialized and was never kept in a home as a pet. As a result Cooper is timid and a little standoffish until he gets to know you. Cooper is sweet boy, but he has some fear and trust issues that we are working on. Hes probably not a dog who will come running up to you looking for affection and attention right away. Hes not used to people handling him so he isnt sure of their intentions when hes approached. Cooper needs a person or family willing to work with him on socializing and becoming more confident. He does well with positive reinforcement and treats. He can be afraid of his own shadow and needs help overcoming fear of the unknown. Cooper is learning to be loved on and has found out that he LOVES belly rubs! He is playful and friendly and likes to give kisses. He loves being outside running in the yard with other dogs and we are requiring a home where he has a size appropriate doggy companion. He has not been around cats since we have had him. Kids over the age of 10 would be a good fit for him. He loves the teenager in his foster home! Cooper can climb a chain link fence and needs a home with secure 6 foot privacy fenced yard. He does not walk on a leash. We were told that he was a flight risk, and we can see that if he gets scared. If he got out of his yard he would be hard to recover. He should not be outside alone until you are sure he cant get out of the yard. Cooper is not fully housebroken yet, hes never had anyone work with him before, but Doodles are generally smart and he can learn. He quickly figured out how to use the dog door by watching the other dogs in his foster home. Cooper rides well in the car, he just lies down in the backseat. He is learning to play and plays with toys. At night he sleeps in a dog bed or in the big bed. As long as its a soft place and in the same room as his person he is happy! Cooper has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, has been fecal tested, is heartworm negative, and has had a 12 month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration.
