Buddy truly lives up to his name. Born around March 2014, Buddy is a friendly, woolly presence wherever you are: calm and well-mannered in the house, in the car, and on walks; he makes friends everywhere he goes.

A bump on the ground most of the time, he launches himself so wholeheartedly into action when the doorbell rings that its funny to see! Once hes had a chance to sniff your visitors, hes generally okay and may even hug them. He barks when he sees or hears anything unusual in the garden but will stop as soon as he knows youve checked it out and are fine with it.

He loves to chase bunnies and will bounce after them across the lawn like a big furry beach ball but has been good with the horse, goat, sheep, and chickens. The cats not keen on him but will walk by or even jump over him, and he mostly ignores her.

A great pal, and easy-going, as long as he can be with you, but though he doesnt seem to mind waiting for you in the car, he gets very anxious if he thinks hes been left alone in the house and will either start howling or try to get out to start looking for you. An adopter would have to be willing to take him along, or have somebody stay with him, all the time. Buddys foster Mom says, "He gets along well with my female and smaller male dogs, but he isnt crazy about my larger Pyr, so maybe best with female or smaller dogs than him." He can be adopted as an one-and-only, too. He likes kids but would be best in a home with just adults.

Adoption fee: $300 (Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm test, rabies, distemper, parvo and health certificate for travel). Adopters outside of Texas pay the cost of transport to independent transport service ($250).
