Description:
Hi, Im Mario! Im between 1 and 2 years old with a lot of puppy energy and a teenager attitude. My favorite pass time activities include squirrel watching, chasing squirrels, going on walks to hunt squirrels and dreaming about squirrels. Im told Im very smart and learn new things quickly. While I seem perfect on the outside Ive got a few issues Ive been working on and could use some continued help with. Im kind of awkward and goofy at times, but arent we all? I love kids, especially the ones who like to play with me! I like to make friends with most other dogs, but Im still learning what the appropriate way to meet them is. Cats.. why dont they want to play with me? I love a good routine, so if you think you are up for it I think we could be best friends!

From the foster parents:
Mario is a very sweet boy and smart too! Hes a lab mix, but dont let the photos fool you; he is smaller than he looks weighing in around 45-50lbs. Hes surprisingly very soft to pet and tends to shed a lot, but he doesnt mind being brushed. Mario was found wondering the streets in the city and taken in as a stray. When his previous owners never claimed him, Lucky Paws jumped in and rescued him. Hes crate trained, potty trained and knows basic commands like sit, shake, down and a few others.

Mario is a submissive dog with his humans and doesnt like getting yelled at when being naughty. He tends to act out when he doesnt get enough attention according to his standards, however he doesnt act out when you stick to a good routine. He likes to talk (bark) a lot more than some people enjoy; especially if theres a squirrel, dog or mail man around. He needs a home with a fenced in yard, because he will run off if not on a leash or in a fenced in area. He loves kids, but would do best in a home with older kids who will not let him run out the front door when youre not looking. He has some anxiety issues and is a bit high strung.

AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
