Description:
Sterling was brought to STAF by a woman who had learned Sterlings family had been evicted from their house and they had left him to fend for himself. This poor guy is now 6 1/2 years old and has been tossed around from home to home. We promised him that his next home will be the home this sweet, gentle boy deserves.

Somehow, despite his horrible history of neglect, Sterling is just such a great dog. He acts like a youngster, playfully chasing balls and romping around in our fenced in yard area. He loves any time he can get with the volunteers and he has doggie friends who he really enjoys playing with. Somehow, along the way, he also picked up some basic commands!

Sterling also does wonderfully on a leash. He is not a puller and is calm even when loud trucks and cars are speeding by.

This handsome boy is ready to become a member of a stable, loving family.

We will continue to update his profile as we learn more about Sterling!

***If you would like to meet Sterling, please visit STAF.org for more information on our adoption process, or email us at adoptadog@STAF.org for next steps. ***

• All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.
• We do not do same-day adoptions. You will be asked to return for at least one follow-up visit, then take the dog home for a trial period before officially adopting.
• You must be 21 years or older to adopt from STAF.
• We require a 4-foot-tall physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog’s behavior and exercise needs.
• Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training, we can not adopt to homes with invisible fences.
• We do request vet and personal references.
• We can facilitate adoptions within a 75-mile radius of our Cincinnati-based shelter.
