Description:
Say hi to Artey #MASA15729! Artey is an eight-month-old, heartworm-negative boy found roaming around the 38111 area on August 7. Over the weekend, this sweet little guy went on a foster field trip! Here is what his chaperone said about their time together.

"Meet Artey! He is now one of my all-time favorite foster field trip buds! Artey is eight months old, 30 lbs, heartworm negative, super sweet, and cute as can be. That sounds like the perfect catch, right?

Our first stop was Overton Park. Artey is a bit timid when going to new places. When we left the car, he preferred to stand and observe his surroundings for a while before beginning our walk (see video).

Next stop: Hollywood Feed! Artey enjoyed getting some yummy treats and getting some pets. He was unbothered by other dogs in the store. We then went to Cooper-Young to grab some lunch. Artey was very well behaved on the patio and enjoyed sitting in the shade and watching people walk by. He also enjoyed rolling in the grass on our way back to the car.

I was very impressed by Arteys good manners! Although hes still a young pup, he was quite calm the entire day. He would be the perfect fit for just about anyone!"

Artey was part of a playgroup on 8/16/22. He was nervous at first but then more friendly and social with time. Eventually, he even tried to play with some of the other dogs!

Artey is at-risk, so wed love to see him adopted, fostered, or rescued ASAP! If youre interested in Artey, email mas@memphistn.gov or meet him at the shelter anytime during our daily visiting hours of 12-4 pm.
