Look at this stunning hound!  Buckshot came to us a couple months ago from our friends at Patrick County Public Animal Shelter.  Hes just now ready for adoption because he tested positive for heart worm disease and had to be treated so he can live a long, healthy life!  We spent $550 on vet care for Buckshot yet often cannot give hounds away.  See why so many rescues cant save anymore? 

Buckshot is a plott hound who seems to be a young adult of 2-3 years.  Hes kinda short and thick and weighed 66 pounds at his last vet visit!  Buckshot is good with kids and other dogs and is an all around good companion!  He is happy and lives for fun.  He is still working on house manners and transitioning from hunting to home so a fenced yard will make him most successful! 

Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA.  A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
