Meet Shadow!

Shadow is such a sweet boy! He was found by a kind person after he had been shot in the leg. Unfortunately, the bone was completely shattered and required amputation. He is completely healed and ready for a forever home!

Dont let the fact that hes a tripod get you down...he is very agile and can still outrun most dogs and people if he wants to!

Shadow is around 3 years old, best guess. He is about 60 pounds. We think he is likely a Shiba Inu mix. He definitely will require a home with a vacuum...he can shed the equivalent of another dog!

Shadow has the best personality. He loves people. We have some kids who volunteer to walk dogs and he loves them. He hasnt been around cats. He does very well on-leash. He loves to give hugs, and would love a family who will spoil him rotten!

Hes not currently in a foster home, so we are unsure of his level of house training.

Shadows adoption fee is $500 which includes his neuter, current vaccinations (rabies, 2 parvo/distemper boosters, bordatella), negative heartworm test, registered microchip, negative fecal, health certificate, and transport costs.

He is available through Paw Pals of Hale Center, a partner rescue of Project Freedom Ride. We are located in the Texas Panhandle. He would be transported on one of the PFR transports to either Meridian ID, SLC, UT, Seattle, WA, Mt Vernon, WA, Kennewick, WA, Portland, OR, Buffalo/Syracuse/Newburgh/Castleton on Hudson, NY, Chester, PA, Cleveland, OH, Springfield, IL, Halethorpe, MD, Lansing, MI, Springfield/Richmond, VA or Bedminster, NJ. For more information on how a Direct Adoption with Project Freedom Ride works or to meet this guy via video call, email

As a Paw Pals of Hale Center direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet would take place on video call (FB Messenger Call, Facetime, Whats App, or Google Duo). The adoption application and fee would be finalized prior to transport.

Adoption application can be accessed at the link below.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
