Phone: 541.662.2062
Open by appointment only, 5 days a week. Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
ADOPTION INFO:
To meet a dog you are interested in, fill out a no-pressure application, available here: https://tinyurl.com/RK9Applicatn
Email the completed application to: K9shelter@cityofreedsport.org
This application is not specifically to adopt a dog, but to let us know who we are meeting with. Since we are open by appointment only, we do not want to make appointments with people who are not a good match for our dogs.

Adopting a Friend - There is no adoption fee, nor do we give dogs away. We do ask for a donation of $50-$200* so we may continue caring for the animals in our facility.
*Dogs we have spayed/neutered, vaccinated, chipped we ask for a larger donation. We require the new owner spay or neuter (if not already) the dog within a specified time period, vaccinate and license the dog in the county where they reside.

The Reedsport K9 Shelter is a no-kill Shelter located at 185 West Railroad Avenue off Port Dock Road in Reedsport, Oregon. Our proudest accomplishments include routinely receiving transport dogs from overcrowded high-kill shelters. Operating under the Reedsport Police Department, we are staffed by a volunteer manager and a group of dedicated volunteers who care for the many dogs received from the coastal area of Douglas County. The City of Reedsport has a very small budget for the maintenance of the building, property and utilities of the shelter. The dog’s needs are supplied totally by funds, food, and assorted needs donated by benefactors in our community. Local veterinarians donate their services, medicines, and supplies at reduced or no cost to the dogs in need.
FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an
internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet
Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or
involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery
Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet
owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such
as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the
program.
