Be a Foster, Be a Hero!

Are you an experienced foster? IBKNY has several cats who need a hero to help them become adoption ready. These cats are friendly, but human shy and need a practiced foster to help them start to trust people and come of their shells so they will be ready for the good life. If that's you, fill out our application at ittybittykittyny.org and be sure to say you want to foster!

2020 was an extremely challenging year. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many of our partner veterinarians to curtail vital spay and neuter services available at low or no cost to rescue and TNR groups, like IBKNY. This has tragically led to a devastating spike in street kittens.

This means not only more street kittens needing rescuing, socialization, and critical veterinary care, but also a strain on available resources for older cats and community cats. To make matters worse, there has been a wave of abandoned cats across the city.

To meet this challenge, IBKNY is urgently seeking fosters who can temporarily house and care for cats and kittens in our care.

Fostering is a generous and rewarding act of compassion and care. And it is a perfect way to give back to the community--especially for people who find themselves working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

So, if you're looking for some companionship and a way to give back to your community, consider being a foster today!
