This friendly girl is Daisy - she's a 5-year-old Boxer mix weighing about 45 pounds. She is very sweet & loving, just wants to please her people & is calm and gentle. She definitely has a Boxer personality and likes to give hugs! This girl has been through so much. Dumped by owners, she was surrendered to a kill shelter and left to die. She was out of time when one of our rescue partners pulled her but wasn’t able to find a rescue for her right away. Our rescue partner has had her for several months and she has done great with most dogs big and small. However, she can be selective at times due to being attacked by another dog. Daisy's major issue is regular inappropriate urination. Our rescue partner has done an abdominal Ultrasound to rule out a mass (which looked normal), bloodwork to rule out Cushings or Addisons (again normal). At this point the vet believes it is either Diabetes Insipidus or psychosomatic. She is currently on meds for diabetics insipidus (there is no test - either the meds work and that is the diagnosis, or they don’t). Daisy is the sweetest dog and deserves to be able to run and play outside and nap on the couch. Unfortunately she isn’t able to do that in the foster home with the other dog who attacked her. Instead, she has to be kept separated for her own safety. Daisy has so much love to give, she deserves a home of her own where she will feel safe & be loved. Daisy is currently located in Eastern North Carolina. A meet and greet can be arranged for a serious adopter who understands what is involved and would be willing to work with her to overcome her medical issues. If you'd like to meet her, please fill out an application at www.ehrdogs.org & be sure to mention her name, DAISY GIO!
