Pennie Dalila is a 6 year old dachshund mix. She came into our rescue from a loving home but went down in her back and the family knew they couldn't take care of all her needs. Pennie is now in our care and with some strict crate rest and medications has regained function of her back legs! The vet discovered that she does have arthritis so is now taking a daily supplement. She had been doing some home therapy but occasional walks seem to be all she needs to keep her leg muscles nice and strong. She wants to greet every human and dog she meets so these walks are her favorite time of day. With how friendly she is, she also loves accompanying her foster parents to all the dog friendly spots in town. Pennie truly just wants to be the center of attention. Her ideal family would give her belly and head rubs 24/7 but she understands you get busy so she can also keep herself busy by playing with her favorite toy, a piece of cloth. Since she is still recovering, she would do best in a quiet home where she's not tempted to play too hard and rehurt herself. She is still technically disabled but we have found ways to work with her to have a great life. If you would like to give her a chance, feel free to put in a request and her foster mom would love to talk to you to see if you are the right family for her. This pup is a spunky little girl that is just looking for a family to love her like the princess she is. If you're looking for a best friend or shadow, Pennie is your girl.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
