Hi! My name is River. I am about 1.5 years old and come in at a petite 60 pounds. I have had quite a rough start to life and I am slow to warm up to new humans. I do not do well with lots of fast movement, so a home with young children would not be a good fit for me. I would also benefit from additional training to help build my confidence.

I do love to play with my foster brother and with the neighborhood dogs! I really come out of my shell when there are other dogs around. Ideally, I would go to a home with another dog that will help teach me their ways.

My leash manners are pretty good. I walk great in tandem with my foster brother. Sometimes when we go on walks we get to play in the creek! That is super fun. I like splashing around.

I am a sweet girl who needs a chance. If I sound like a possible good fit for your family, please let your adoption coordinator know that you are interested in me! I am looking for my furever home!

Our adoption process consists of a telephone interview, a call to your veterinarian and a home visit. If you have any questions about the adoption process please contact

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
