This is a courtesy post for a senior GSD, Rachel, who is looking for a new family.

“I was born on July 23, 2013. When I was a little puppy I got out and got hit by a car. My owner couldn’t care for me. I was doomed to a kill shelter in Apple Valley, California. But a man named Brian rescued me. He runs the “Puppy Coalition Rescue” in San Marcos, CA. He got my injured hip and leg fixed via surgery and trained me to be a companion to an elderly woman who recently passed. She left me as part of her estate to her family, but they are not dog people…so they surrendered me to a local trainer to help find me a home.

On January 8th, 2020 two cool humans, Shayne and Susan, founders of the “GNAW ON THEIR SKULL ACADEMY” (GOTS), figured out that I was unhappy, irritable & overweight. I was 102Lbs, and not exercised. I was allergic to the food I was being fed. I was a mess. Not anymore. “Look at Me Now!” I’m a lean 69lbs. I love people, dogs, and kids. I just bark a little…”

The best fit for Rachel will be a family with GSD experience, and an understanding of her medical needs (Allergies). She is a wonderful companion and can be placed in a home as an only dog, or with other dogs. She also is cat friendly!

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.

Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers.

We show our dogs at adoption events every weekend! Check our our website to see where we'll be next!
